    Basement Bathroom
    We want to finish our basment and install a bathroom. I believe the first picture attached is design to be used as a drain for the toilet. The second picture attached appears to be the vent for the toilet drain and possibly a place to attach another drain (like a sink).
    Is it possible to install a sink, shower/tub and toilet to this "plumbed in" set-up or does another drain need to be added to the basement floor. We would like to have a shower/tub as well, but we don't want to break-up the concret. Can this be done? Do you have any suggestions?

    How far is the center of the pipe coming up out of the floor from the wall? It should be 12" to center. Is there anything draining into the vent from above? Tom

    The drain is 17" to center from the closest wall and 57.5" from the furthest. The basment is unfinished, show these dimensions would change when drywall is installed. The drain is ~5" wide and sticks up 4" from the floor. The small vent is ~90" to center from the big drain in the floor. The vent pipe appears to connect to the plumbing in the kitchen (sink with garbage disposal and dish washer. All of the other plubing (including washer) appear to be connected to a single drain/vent system on the other side of the basement.
    We live in Ohio and I don't know if multiple drains can be connect to a single vent, but it appears they can.

    Hi Matt,

    The slip to thread fitting will have to be cut out and a toilet flange installed. You may come off the kitchen drain line, (it's not a vent if a fixture discharges into it) 17 1/2" off the flioor to the center of a 2" sanitary tee to pick up the lavatory but you'll have to place a upright tee just before you elbo out for a stub-out to run a vent for the lavatory. Since these are all the pipes I see I take it this will be a half bath. Regards, Tom
