I have a Kenmore Series 80 washer. I have a 2 part agitator. I've removed the dispenser cap. Under the cap it's smooth with writing "dual action". Does this piece snap up and off? I've read pry it with a small screwdriver, but it doesn't seem to move. I don't want to break it. It fits over the bottom part much like paper cups being stacked up, although there is a gap between the "mover" and the "agitator".

PS My wife has a gotten a string with metal ends trapped under the agitator. The metal is stuck and I suspect I need to remove it or I'd cut the string n' be done with it.
