    L130 fuel line loose

There is a design flaw in the tank design. If you look at where the fuel line enters the top of the tank and then look inside the tank, you will see a black hose. That hose screws into the area of the fuel tank where the fuel line attaches. When new, it is glued in. It works loose over time. As it works loose, it touches the bottom of the fuel tank. When it does this, suction pulls it to the tank and prevents fuel from entering the fuel line. The engine shuts off.

This black tube came unscrewed and fell into my tank. Now I will have to replace the tank or find a fix. My L130 is just taking space in my garage at present.

If you catch the problem before the tube fully unscrews, you might be able to find a pair of angled pliers that will allow you to screw it back in tight.

Does anyone have a better suggestion?
I have the same problem, black hose is off the top of the tank. Have you found a way to put it back on?

    Hi,
I separated your post into a new one as the one you attached it to was over 2 1/2 years old.
If you will remove the two bolts holding the rear of the fender deck, it will lift a couple of inches. Block it to hold it up and you should be able to get at it with a pair of needle nose pliers. Be sure to get the clamp in place, or install one if missing. The problem occurs because the clamp was missing or not in place when the hose was attached. Both occurred, and it was not as easy to fix as the older style with the fuel line in the rear being to one side or the other of its groove and pinched by the frame.
    Peace,
    Clarke

I recently acquired a weadeater featherlite XT200 at a garage sale and the reason I got it so cheap was that the rubber fuel lines that hang in the gas tank had rotted off. I was wondering if anyone knew of an easy fix in the way of an easily accesible type of tubing that might fit since it seems...
