    Weedeater Fuel Line
I recently acquired a weadeater featherlite XT200 at a garage sale and the reason I got it so cheap was that the rubber fuel lines that hang in the gas tank had rotted off. I was wondering if anyone knew of an easy fix in the way of an easily accesible type of tubing that might fit since it seems so hard to find the proper replacement parts. I'm considering trying something like silicone aquarium air hose, but I'm not sure how it will stand up to exposure to gasoline. Anyone know if this should be some special type of material like neoprene or something like that ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It isn't easy or fun because the tubs are smal and your fingers are big. Don't go with aquarium line, go directly to a lawn repair shop with a small piece of the line. They can also look up tubing sizes. Tell them you want to replace the clunker too. They could do the job for you but for about $80. Its worth your try.

Hi! All you have to do is replace the fuel lines with a good hose that is meant to endure gasoline exposure for long periods. I use Tygon. You will probably need a foot of 3/32 ID x 3/26 OD and a foot of .08 ID x .14 OD. There are many folks who can sell this to you through eBay. Just do a search, and they should come up. Replacing the fuel line should be pretty easy from this point, and you might even want to replace that fuel filter too!

    Cheers,

Well just for a tip, at the end of the fuel line, cut at a sharp angle back up towards the other end, then feed this "pointed" section of line into the tank, it will be very useful to obtain a pair of , I think they are called forceps, long scissor looking tweezer like tool. You can buy a pair for around $5.00 at wal - mart in the fishing section , they sell them for fish hook removal, anyway, use the forceps to reach into the tank and pull out the line, cut the point off square and put on a new filter.

My trimmer only works if I hold it so that the fuel is up to the top. It appears that a tube should be in the tank to feed the fuel to the engine when the tank is low. What part or parts will I need to fix this and where can I get them? Thanks!
