Originally I had a dyed medium brown shade and I wanted to possibly go back to my original lighter ash blond. So I bleached it, but my hair is so thick that it wasn't enough for my head. So I took it to chance, and applied it as even as I could and left it on for the maximum time (60 minutes). It turned out like a strawberry blonde with hints of orange. It's not too terrible, but not very natural looking.

So I bought a darker shade of my result, a darker reddish brown. So I was wondering: Can I dye a darker shade of the result instead of using toners and base colors? I thought perhaps since I'm not changing colors, just shades, it would possibly work... but not sure!

I was hoping so because I can't afford those as I already bought the bleach and hair color (and pay day is just so far away!).

I know that some people that I know dyed, then bleached, then dyed again within a few weeks. Their hair turned to 'cotton candy' texture and fell out. You really should wait and go get it professionally fixed at this point I would say.
