    Dogs and dried up worms
I hope I haven't asked this before, because if I did I do not remember the answer.

When we walk our dogs, my 10 lb poodle 'Bingo' will stop and rub her face and body all over a dried up dead worm:confused: She freaks out and has to roll all over it. She actually looks like she is searching for them as she walks.

When it happens, Glen, Coogle and I just stop and stare at her shaking our heads. She has her fill and then we move on. She really looks like she is enjoying this far too much.

Since I never heard of this I Googled it and while I found no reason for this odd behavior,I did find that she is not alone in this and in fact,I guess you should be pleased because some dogs like to eat them as well. :)

I had a dog who loved to hang out in swamp water. As soon as we gave him a bath he would bolt and right to the swamp. He just felt better with that scent on him(it was awful) !

My educated guess is that their odor is bringing on some sort of doggie attraction to her.She may like that funky smell and she is just perfuming herself in it.

I think this is one of those dog mysteries you just have to shake your head at.
I think its funny that the other dogs shake their heads too LOL!

Some dogs find the strangest things to be absolutely tantalizing... I'm guessing that for whatever reasons, dried up dead worms are the most sublime perfume to her! :p

I don't know why they feel the need to roll in gross things... I have googled it as well Artsy and have come up with nothing!

When we moved into our house Prada my girl would always go to the same spot in our yard and rub her face on the ground and roll on her back...

Curiosity got the better of me after the 4th or 5th time and I went searching through the grass... there was a dried up dead mouse there
