Battery Dies and cuts off while driving
I own a 2006 Honda Accord V6. I have just purchased my 4th Battery a few days ago. My engine light recently came on and car cut off while I was driving on the highway. I was able to pull over and restart the vehicle. I took the car to Autozone to get a diagnostic test done, since Honda was closed. They printed out a report saying I had a faulty computer module. I took in to Honda and they claim they couldn't find anything other than I needed a new battery. I had just purchased I new battery in April. I have been reading online lately and seeing that some of the same problems I am having has happened to other owners. I have an extended warranty, and I want to have whatever parts need replacing before my warranty runs out. I am also concerned that this could cause me to have an accident while driving and I could be left stuck on the highway. Honda can't seem to find anything wrong. I had them check the computer, alternator, and starter a few days ago. They found nothing. I am afraid for my safety. Can you help me?

Definitely a dangerous situation. What specific code was reported? Engines normally die on your generation of Honda due to Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP) and ECM (computer) failure. CKPs are frequently exposed to the elements and it takes its toll on them. With all of your battery problems, don't jump start your car. You increase the odds that a voltage spike will damage the ECM, alternator, or other sensors. Too many people find this out the hard way.

    Other items to check:

. Change your platinum spark plugs, if they have been in longer than 40,000 miles. Only use the exact NGK plugs that came in the car.

. Clean the main ECM ground and apply dielectric grease.

. Clean battery terminals, cables, and main ground. Apply dielectric grease, afterwards.

. Remove and fully charge the battery. AutoZone will do this for free. As an aside, I installed a brand new Sears DieHard Gold battery in one of my cars last week. The manager said it didn't need charging. When I got home, I placed it on a charger and it drew 5 amps! It took 3.5 hours to fully charge the battery, which was made in May of this year. That would have been very hard on the alternator, especially with A/C and other demands on the battery.
