No hot water coming out of shower
Just moved into a house and the master bed shower isn't working properly. When the faucet is turned to the hot water side, it barely trickles out water and it is cold. No hot water comes out even after 5 minutes. The sinks in the bathroom both have hot water and the rest of the house has hot water. The other showers have hot water within a minute.

My sister previously owned the house and didn't seem to have a problem with the water. The house was left unoccupied for a couple of months before I moved in.

Any ideas or suggestions on the situation? Can I fix this myself (I don't know anything about plumbing) or consult a plumber?

    Thanks!

What's the brand name of your shower valve? You're going to hafta shut the water off, open up the valve and remove the cartridge. Check and clean the inlet ports. Before you button up turn the water on to flush out the supplies. Good luck, Tom

If you get plenty of cold water out of the shower head the shower head is not clogged with debris. The faucet may be an anti scald faucet with a balancing spool in the faucet. The problem may be possibly be there if you still don't get ho water after taking the cartridge out. Some faucets have the balancing spool build right into the cartridge.

Now that you mention the anti scald, my boyfriend noticed that the laundry hot water was scalding hot. Could that be the issue? The water is too hot so nothing is coming out of the shower upstairs?
