    Changing bath tile color
    Changing bath tile color--What does one do to change the color of their bathroom tile color so that it lasts? How do you treat the grout?

    Color and grouting are 2 separte issue. You can paint ceramic tiles and tubs with Rust_Oleums Tub and Tile poaint but the fumes are very bad for several days. The drawback to this is you will have painted the grout line and may alter your"look"

    If you're looking to change the tile color, you can do so by spray painting the tiles with an enamel coating. The spray seals all surfaces (grout as well) so the whole area is uniform in color and more waterproof. Just a note, I hired a professional to change by bathtub and tile color and the results were phenomenal but... if you're not careful, the enamel can chip and you cannot use any abrasive cleaners once this is done.
    If you do this yourself, practice first!

    I am not so certain that enamel is what you need to color your tile. Read the info about Tub and Tile it is a 2 part epoxy. RustOleum.com

    I went on the RustOleum website and it seems to be an interesting product. If I wouldn't have hired a professional to change the color of my tiles and bathtub, I would have definitely used RustOleum. Also, I noticed that RustOleum has an epoxy acrylic finish which is probably much more scratch resistant than enamel.

    If it's not in a tub/shower area then you can just clean the tile well with TSP and spray paint it but be sure to mask everything off in the room and run a wet dry vac to suck up the overspray. The grout will end up being painted as well but when I sprayed my tile island in my kitchen black I liked the way it turned out.
