I just need some encouragement.
I've just entered a relationship with a man turning 20 this year, and I will be turning 24 this year.
I've always dated older men, this is the first person I have dated who is younger. I know if we were both not adults, it would be an issue, but we are both adults..
I think I just need encouragement on the whole age is just a number dealy..

Look at him for his quality not numbers.
Think of it this way, if he is a keeper why throw him away and possibly end up with someone your age or older but treats you rotten.
If it really bothers you take it slow, really get to know him and take it from there.

My mom was almost 4 years older then my dad. She felt the same way you do. They started dating when he was 19, she was almost 23, she felt weird about it.
That's not such a big difference, you're both adults, go for it, have fun, at this age, age is just a number. :)

Well we have known each other (sort of) for almost 3 years now.
Waiting for the gasps, but we met on the internet (OMG), and just recently met, and it was everything we ever wanted. We're being cautious of course though. He is going to be visiting on a regular basis until we are 100% sure we know this is what we want, before he moves here.

Sariss, a few years ago, someone telling me they met on the internet would have shocked me. Now, not so much.
There are so many people on AMHD that I adore, I've never met a single one of them.
It's not something people can understand until they experience it.
It's good you're treading carefully, but, enjoy. You're young, have fun. :)

Yeah, I always told myself that I would NEVER get involved with someone I had never met in person before.
But I actually think it made things better, as we were able to get to know each other so much better because of it.
The only issue is we live in different countries, and I've been working out immigration stuff and it's a B!TCH.

Exactly
... and as I always say there are as many nut cases on the street as there are on the internet. Just as there are as many decent people on the street as there are on the internet.

It definitely is true. We were able to get to know each other long before we even knew what each other looked like (that was a bonus!), and I strongly believe if we had met randomly on the street we wouldn't know each other so much.
And as much as I hate to say it, I feel so much stronger for him now than I ever did for my ex, who I was with for almost 6 years. Granted some of that may be infatuation, but it's so much different. Then again, I'm older. :)

Hey, I know you are looking for some encouragement but I'm not sure if this is.
I've met my first love online. At least I thought I was. We've talked online for about 3 years just as friends. Thought we knew everything about each other.
Decided to meet in person. Things seems so perfect. Continue on with a relationship just talking online how we would wait for each other until we're done college. This went on for about 2 years.
Spent more time with each other and did more things with each other even though it wasn't that often. She later figured out things weren't the same as they were onlne. Left me with a broken heart and went for someone else while I was still hung up on her, still am.
We sacrificed so much for each other. Its good you're not rushing into things and don't sacrifice too much and later all you get is a broken heart. And don't worry about the age, its not that a big of a deal. I hopes it all goes well. =P

I think just as in 'real life' some work and some don't. I have heard of many success stories/marriages from internet relationships but you are right after you meet it could be a whole different story on how it goes.
Life is chances and if you don't give it a try you won't know.

I'd like a spot to post encouragement for people. Tried this on Christianity, and was selfish to limit it's use. Would like for this to be used by all to post encouraging words to each other. Need not be Biblical, but that's what really speaks to me.
I found this and really like it.
