    Can having abortion stop you from getting pregnant again
    Im a 20yr old female. I had a abortion 5yrs ago and I am now trying to get pregnant again I have been trying to get pregnant for 7months. But still no luck can having a abortion have something to do with it or can it be because my boyfriend smokes weed. Somebody please help this is driving me crazy

    Some times it can just take years of trying.
    It took me almost two years to get pregnant. Then I ended up pregnant four times within 4 yrs.

    Abortion CAN cause fertility issues, however, that is not necessarily the cause. Typically the more abortions you have, the more it could affect your fertility.

    Its possible that your boyfriends lifestyle is effecting his sperm as well. Infertility rates these days average 50% male, 50% female.

    At one year of trying, most doctors will proceed with fertility testing. The most quick and easiest test is to get a SA (semen analysis). Your boyfriend will give a sample and they will check for mobility, motility, and morphology (quantity, how well they move, if they are deformed). Start there, since it will possibly rule out at least 50% of the problem. Any fertility test you may have to do would be much more invasive - so my doc always recommends having the male get tested first.

    Also, schedule a pre-conception appointment with your doctor and start prenatal vitamins with folic acid ASAP (they prevent birth defects and should be in your system BEFORE conception). If you talk to your doc, be honest about your boyfriend smoking weed - they've heard worse and its important they know.

    Why are you trying to get pregnant when it's your boyfriend and he is smoking weed?
    What kind of role models are you planning on being for your children?
    Maybe a higher power is waiting for you to be prepared for parenting.

    Many couples can take a year or more of actively trying before they conceive.

    Yes, smoking weed can cause fertility issues, also, when you conceive, it's not a good lifestyle for you to be around.

    True, but smoking weed around you while pregnant or around the baby after it's born, that's not what a good father does.

    Also, he may have a harder time getting you pregnant because he smokes.
