Lottsa things! But for me to tell you you got to give me something to work with.
Describe the noise. Do they really rattle or is it more of a bang when you close a faucet? Do the pipes rattle when drawing water or when you're draining something? Are they noisy when nothing's being used? Talk to me!
    Cheers, Tom

Also, can you let us know what type of material the pipes are. You say new home, so I'm guessing the water pipes are some sort if pex. But even if they are copper(not a bad thing at all) we will need to know the answers to Toms questions. Hope to hear back from you soon. Lee

Ps. Most likely the noise is caused from inproperly anchored piping. Especially with pex pipings that are anchored directly to floor joist or wall framing. IF they are not achored properly, they will slap back and forth against framing causing a rather unusaull rattling noise. Nothing to worry about really, except the annoyance of the noise. This is just one possible problem, so please give us more info and we will try to let you know what we think.
