    Discharge Hose for Washer
My discharge hose became disconnected from my wash machine and I am trying to re-connect it. The connection is far inside the back bottom of the wash machine. I thought I reconnected it with force, and it wasn't leaking at first, but now it is (from the front and back). It is a very old maytag. Is there a tool that would help me reconnect it more securely or that I am supposed to be using anyway?

As I recall my washer discharge hose was secured by a spring type hose clamp, (see image). They can be a bear to install in a tight area.
Why not get a regular hose clamp, (see image) and install that instead. Good luck, Tom

The drain hose in my washing machine is backing up. I had to replace the pipe that the hose sits in. It is about 3 inches shorter than the old one. Not sure if this has anything to do with the back up. It starts to drain fine, and then water comes out the top of the pipe.

We just moved into a house with a septic system and a basement hook-up for the washing machine. There is a open pipe above the washer hookups which I assume is the drain for the washer? How do I change out the hose or do I add an extension or what? Or is this a job for a plumber? It's a...

Washing Machine Discharge Hose Length [ 1 Answers ]

I would like to move my washing machine from its current position, directly in front of our utility tubs. The new location will require a discharge hose close to 15' long. (The washer inlet hoses will be about as long, too.) Is there any problem with this? Where can I get this length of...
