    Heat Pump Runs - Blower stops after 2 days
    My wife and I purchased a home 5 years ago. The heat pump outside quit and we replaced it with a new one. The outside pump is a 4 ton unit - the blower unit is also a 4 ton unit. We are now having an issue when the heat pump comes on (Air conditioning) the blower unit in the house comes on and works fine for 3 to 4 days, then the blower unit will not turn on. The heat pump starts to freeze up (on the pipes on the outdoor unit). If I set the switch to off for 5 minutes then turn it back on to cool the outside unit comes on and the blower unit comes on and works fine for 3 to 4 days. The time that it stays working is now down to 1 to 2 days. What can I check to see what the problem is?

    It might be the reversing valve in the outside unit or the defrost control board. This would be best left to a professional since what you are stating is a unusual/not common issue.
