    Sumb pump nt draing
HELLO , I'm Oliver and I have a question regarding my sump pump. During the last few days while using the washing machine my pump stop working. I noticed there was mud coming through the drain. I stop using the washing machine to see if the water would subside. The water went down by the next day.My daughter used the washer the next day and the water did not drain as it should. It overflowed on too the floor. When the water dried , it was muddy water. I drained the water out by hand, I'm not exactly sure about what's suppose to be at the bottom of the tank but there was an oily substance and mud. I scooped a lot out and let it fill up with water again. It still want drain and all I get is a humming sound as the ball comes up. If this is enough info could you please tell me what the problem might be?

Pull the pump and clean the input openings. Use hose to clean inside the impeller housing. When reinstalling make sure that pump sits on brick or block up above any mud or dirt in bottom of sump crock or hole.
