    Average Speed traveled
    You live 15 miles away from your job. On you way to work you traveled the 15 miles at a rate of 40 mph, on the way home you hit traffic and traveled 10mph. What was your average speed?

    To find the average spoeed you divide the total miles traveled by the total time to make the trips. So determine the time it took for the trip into work, and add it to the time for the trip home, and divide that sum into the total miles traveled. Let us know what you get.
