Carrier Code 22 Abnormal Flame Proving Signal
I have a Carrier model 58RAV075-JC furnace. It's the dead of summer here and ambient temperature is running about 100 degrees F every day. I noticed the inducer fan running, actually cycling on and off, while the air handler blower is off. Obviously, I'm running in the cooling mode now, so this is a mystery. The LED is flashing 22 - Abnormal Flame Proving Signal. I don't know what to do to clear this or what's causing it. Evidently, it is affecting the blower control, because it will get into a cycle where the blower won't run, and the evaporator will freeze up. If I remove the blower door, the safety switch will shut down the inducer fan. If I close the switch, the air handler blower will come on and run indefinitely with the thermostat switch selected to "On," and the inducer blower will continue to run. The condensing unit outside will operate properly in this confguration. Even after disconnecting main power supply to the furnace, the error will not reset.
About 10 years ago, the circuit board had to be replaced because the blower relay failed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
