    Getting custody of nephew
    My sister wants me to take custody of her child he is 4 months old. I was wondering what all it will take to gain custody of him. Also my husband is military do that make it easier for us to take him or does it make it harder?

    First, please pay more attention to posting guidelines. The Adoption forum (where this was moved from) has a Read First sticky that directs questions of a legal nature to this forum. Besides custody and adoption are different things.

    Why does she want you to ake custody? What about the father? Generally, you are better off trying for guardianship, rather than custody.
