Hampton Bay ceiling fan won't work
My ceiling fan is not on a switch, it has a remote. The lights will not turn on and the fan will not run. I replaced the battery in the remote, what should I try next?

You need to see if you have constant 120v power in your ceiling box where your remote senser is located. If you have power then your senser may have gone bad. If no power then you have a different situation to look for

Sorry but this is not going to find your problem. If your lights work then the black/hot 120 line reaches the box 24/7. You may have a bad remote transmitter or receiver. Do they have dip switches under the cover?

He stated that the lights also do not work.

Does the fan have pullchains? Does the LED light on the remote?

Good chance the receiver in the fan housing is bad. You can order a replacement receiuver, but to install it you have to take the fan down and totally apart.

I had mine taken apart and laid out on the floor waiting for the replacement.

Can be done but must know what you are doing.
