New Hampton Bay ceiling fan still won't work
I went and bought a new battery for the remote, rechecked all the connections. The remote red lite comes on. Is there a red lite that should also come on in the receiver when the remote is being used. How would I know if the receiver is not working?

Check your dip switches on both the remote and the fan receiver to make sure they match perfectly. Put your test leads on the black and white coming into the box above the canopy, should be 120 v. Now do the same on the white and black coming out of the receiver after you push the on button, should also be 120 v. If you have 120 in but not out and the switches all match you likely have a bad receiver or remote.

No red light on the receiver, only in the remote. Please refer to the other thread you posted.
