    Loose connectors on track lighting
I have a old building that we installed new cheap (in quality but not necceassirly price) track lighting. I have had continued problems with the connector screws coming loose. Even on ones that I have replaced and know were tightenend securely. Some of the loose connections have caused the connecting pieces to arc and damage the actual contacts. I can't see or hear any vibrations. Is it just crap stuff? I think I bought it at Home Depot or Menards. What Gives?

    Is it just crap stuff?
    Yes, it is all crap.

    Check the country of origin.

    My guess is China.

Having said that, if I directed you to a quality brand such as Light-O-Lier, Juno, Halo, etc. you will probably discover that it also is made in China, but will be a bit better quality, as it is a better grade of crap.

This is a problem we in the USA cannot get around.

We keep buying this stuff as in most cases, there is nothing made here any longer.

You may want to remove the defective junk and return it to the original point of purchase, and try to get some satisfaction in that manner.

If you bought it from menards and you have your receipt, take it back. They will take most anything back. Tkrussel is right about the other brands.

Cutting Track Lighting track [ 1 Answers ]

Anyone know why Hampton Bay track states that you cannot cut the track? Every other brand allows track to be cut to the needed length and Hampton Bay is worthless to me if I can't cut it.

Old Track Lighting [ 2 Answers ]

I apparently have an old Murray Feiss track lighting system (3 lights w/reflector bulbs). I was hoping to find a compatible track head, but have been told that there are none. The heads in place now are big and bulky and ugly and would like to replace them. Would it just be easier to replace the...
