Can I cut the track for track lighting
I have a 4 ft section of Hampton bay Track lighting. The instructions say do not cut.
Can I cut it to size?

You must follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Asking here for permission will not supersede the manufacturer's instructions.

Interesting, the last time I bought track lighting the instructions said cutting the track was OK. It was Edison brand if I recall. Or Thomas. Heck I don't remember.

CFR, what you probalby had was parts for a track lighting system, in which each part is separate, and the track can be cut. The dead end cap fittings are separate and need to be installed on open ends.

A Hampton Bay unit is sold as a unit, complete with end fittings installed that cannot be modified. The kit is intended to be installed as is for DIY'ers.

Didn't know they made such a thing! I've only dealt with the systems. Another thumbs down for Hampton Bay.
