I'm trying to change my fan. But there are no external screws hold the canopy to the ceiling. How do I loosen the canopy to change the whole fan with out breaking it? The only info is a # 502241, black with 4 lights.

I recently installed hampton bay fan, I am sure it was installed correctly. However its has a remote control and the only way I can get the fan to work is if I turn on the light, no light no fan. Therefore I can not run it at night. :( :(
