    Maytag Performa Dryer
Maytag Performa dryer that shuts off after running for 3 minutes with wet clothes in the drum. Will run without any problem if drum is empty. Can feel heat.

Could be the belt is loose and the idler pulley isn't applying enough tension to the belt. With the drum empty there is little resistance and will spin freely but when filled the added weight could cause the loose belt to slip. Could also be a problem with the drum support rollers not rolling properly when the unit is loaded with heavy wet clothes as well.
