Maytag Performa Dryer won't turn on
Our Maytag dryer - Model # pyet344ayw performa - which is 3 yrs old, quit running/turning on. I've checked the power breaker and have read online to look for burnt wires, etc. A lot of forums say to replace the thermal fuse if you get anything other than a ' 0 ' reading on your OHM meter. Problem is, I get a ' 0 '. So, what should me next step be? I've checked the power source to the outlet and I get a reading that tells me there is current running to the outlet. I looked and there are no burnt wires, so I am at a loss. Is it safe to presume the thermal fuse is bad and should be replaced?

Try jumpering around the thermal fuse. If it now runs, the fuse is bad and needs to be replaced. DO NOT LEAVE THE JUMPER IN PLACE OF A PERMANENT FIX!!

This dryer is a little different from others. The motor is in the rear, and the front is very hard to remove. I have the top off, no problem, but can't reach the screws holding the front on. They are way down the side, and access is very limited. To remove the hinged front cover, the top screws I...
