Looking for basement backlow sewer cover
I just installed engineered flooring on my basement, however by code needed to maintain access to our backflow sewer line. The access point is a circle about 5 ¾ inch in diameter located in the middle of the floor. The actual drain is properly covered; however the cylinder extends upward about 8-10 inches to the base of the cement flooring. I now need to cover the hole left by providing the access to the line. I have seen gold covers in some homes; just do not know where to get them… Lowe's or Home Depot do not carry such. Thanks for your help…

Yes, they are structural clean out covers. They come in many dimensions. They are set in concrete and you can actually drive over them w/o breaking them. They are made of heavy duty bronze. They are bit expensive but absolutely do the job.

Hello all, We have a basement (full) bathroom that is just slightly above grade (I suspect it wouldn't even be allowed under current code -- it is an old house). The bathroom is right next to the outgoing sewer line to our septic tank & the toilet often gurgles and sewer gas comes through...

Does home insurance cover pipes/sewer/septic? [ 3 Answers ]

I just bought my house (built in 1955). It was on a septic, but the washing machine was backing up all of this black nasty stuff and we determined that the field lines had failed. So thousands of dollars later, we are on city sewer. The washing machine still backs up, but the water is now...

Cover for home sewer vent [ 1 Answers ]

Squirrels have been storing pecans in our sewer vent and we have had major plumbing problems. The vents have been cleaned out, but we need to know how to keep the critters out. I understand we could put screen over the top, but wouldn't they just eat through it. What would you recommend we use?...

Sewer trap cover [ 3 Answers ]

Hello all, We have a terra cotta pipe in our front yard leading down to the sewer lateral line (is this called the "sewer trap"?). This pipe has, until recently, had a round terra cotta cover on it... eight inches in diameter and 3/4" thick in this case. Clay being what it is, this cover has...
