Heat and A/C run at the same time.
Bought a new honeywell thermostat and changed it per the instructions all wires in the right spot, but the heat and A/C run at the same time. I have to change the batteries in the thermostat to eliminate that. Any help you can offer would be great!!

Yes there is, but if I'm not mistaken it says to leave it in place if you don't have a heat pump. And if I'm not mistaken the old thermostat (that I broke, ooops) had the jumper in place. But I could be wrong because I don't have the directions in front of me. Regardless of how this works out thanks for the quick response, especially on a Saturday.

Sounds like you have the thermostat set up for heat pump and not gas heat.

Well, GOOD NEWS. The Honeywell ($64.00)thermostat was apparently bad or it was me (which is always a factor). I bought the cheapest digital I could A Hunter ($24.00) hooked it up per the instructions w/ the jumper in place and it worked right out of the hole. So I appreciate your support and quick response, and your are in my favorites and I will share with everybody. It's nice to see folks sharing their knowledge especially on the weekends, who would have thunk it. You all have a great day and may GOD bless you and yours.

Heat/fan come on at same time
[ 8 Answers ]
When the thermostat calls for heat, the fan kicks on immediately, heats home until thermostat says it is warm enough. Heat gas kicks off and fan dies. 30 seconds later, the fan limit control kicks fan on again for about 1 minute and then stops.
I don't think this is a fan limit control problem....
