Trying to conceive
I am 32 years old and trying to conceive my first child, my periods have always been irregular, and I do not ovulate, I was diognosed with Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), so my DR. put me on provera and glucaphage to regulate my period and level my hormones. For the last year they have been pretty much regular almost to the day, but this month I have not had one yet, has this happen to anyone, I do not ovulate properly could I still be pregnant? Please only serious responses...

It's possible, but if you are not ovulating regularly the odds will of course be low.
You could always try a pregnancy test... the meds may have done their job.
Have you been monitored on the glucaphage to see if you are indeed ovulating or not? Was there any discussion of Clomid at some point or had that already been tried?
If you aren't ovulating, you won't get pregnant... so your doctor should be monitoring your cycles to determine if the glucaphage inducing ovulation. The Provera apparently is working, but regular periods induced by Provera do not mean ovulation is occurring as well.
Have you had any changes in dosage of the glucaphage? Have you been on it an entire year?

Thank you for your response, I have been monitored on the gluaphage and yes I had an appointment with another DR. about clomid, we were supposed to start it this month on the third day of my cycle but I have yet to get it, and every PT I take is negative. There have been no changes to my meds and yes I have been on them the entire year...

My friend has PCOS and was told not to try and conceive by her doctor as it could be dangerous? Is this true Doula or J_9??

I know of quite a few women who have conceived and given birth successfully with PCOS.

I have not heard of any reason why getting pregnant with PCOS would be dangerous. PCOS is probably one of the more common reasons for women to try meds such as Clomid.
I wonder if there is another reason she was told that... something that is specific to her situation perhaps. Do you happen to know why her doctor said it was dangerous?

He just told her that with PCOS she shouldn't even try to conceive. Should I suggest she ask another doctor as she really wants children and was very depressed when she was told this?

If you are not happy with a response from one DR always, always, always get a second and third opinion... please tell her to see someone else I was never told that it would be dangerous...

Could he have meant that it could be difficult to conceive with PCOS? Did he actually tell her it would be dangerous? I wonder if she might have misunderstood him? Any idea if this was a OBGYN?
I do hope she seeks some answers from another doctor.

Yes he actually told her it was dangerous, it wasn't an OBGYN, just a GP. I will defiantely advise her to seek another opinion (From an OBGYN) I didn't know a great deal about PCOS apart from the symptoms...
Thank you for your help :)
Sorry for hi-jacking your thread i_want_a_baby... it was sort or relevant... not really... sorry again...
