    Working in two states
    My business is in one state, I will be traveling back and fourth between two states, do I have to get a business license in both states, where can I look up information on this.

    I am not completely positive about this Barbara but I believe that the state where you are based is the state where all business licenses are required. NOW, you WILL have to pay taxes for the business that you did in the other state to that state.

    I'm no expert on this but I do know that my company cannot do work in Illinois because we are not licensed there. Furthermore we have to have a license for different towns/cities here in Indiana.

    Barbara, regardless of law get a business license. It is a cheap and easy thing to obtain. While you are getting your license, join the local chamber of commerce and BBB. Make sure your insurance is honored in both states.
