    Roth IRA investing with no earned income
    I am retired with no earned income, can I invest in a Roth IRA?

    About the only non-earned income that counts is alimony:

    Publication 590 (2008), Individual Retirement Arrangements (IRAs)

    (This is in the traditional IRA section but counts for Roths too.)
