    No earned income
    Do I need a separate return for my s corp if I didn't earn any income in that business last year?

    Generally, yes. However, if the S corporation has never had any income, you might be able to argue that you have not yet really started up the company.

    A corporation must file tax return. You may even owe the minimum franchise tax.
