    Save my carpet from pee
I have a two year old pug which I got from a friend who had him for a year. She kept him in her kitchen with a baby gate and let him do what ever he wanted. I have had him neutered and took him to dog classes. He listens to me and is a joy to have around, however he is always pooping and peeing in my house. Mostly when we are at work. I have tried all the tricks on the internet and bought books. I tried the ignore thing and the cage thing yet he does it again. He has even gone weeks with out peeing then AGAIN it starts.

What am I doing wrong? And how can I get him to stop?

It is a shame he wasn't programmed to do the right thing. I have heard though that Pugs are like this. At 2 his is still an adelescent, so you may still have a chance to housetrain him properly but you will have to intiate tough love to do it. Every time he does it in the house you have to pick him up and take him outside until he realizes what he has to do. I don't envy you this job, wendy, but it has to be done in order to have a clean house. Be diligent, there is hope. You have to introduce a system, a time schedule. Out first thing in the morning as soon as you get up and the last thing at night. However, may be difficult if you work.
