I have no idea what is wrong with my truck
Ok. I asked a couple of questions before this however I am at a complete loss and pissed off. I have a 2005 Dodge Durango and a couple of weeks after purchasing the truck the check engine light kept coming on. I took it to Carmax and my personal mechanic numerous times for this problem and to this day Carmax (where I bought the truck from), DeSalvo Tire and Service (my personal mechanic) or the Dodge dealership have NO idea what was wrong with it. That is my first question... Does anyone have ANY idea what could be wrong? I was told it could be the emissions (the gas cap not on tight enough) or some other minor problem however somehow the truck magically "fixed" itself. My second problem is I was driving to work in a torrential downpour about 1-2 weeks ago and the battery light came on and immediately stalled. This happened three times in a 2 mile radius. I took the truck to my mechanic who said the stored code in the computer mentioned something about my ABS. They advised me to take it to Dodge because they couldn't help me. I had the truck towed to Dodge because I was in fear of driving it and doing more damage and wasn't sure if it would stall on me again. After 2 days and $300 later Dodge had no idea what was wrong with my truck. They said next time this happens to bring it directly to them. I have taken my truck to three different mechanics and no one can help me. DeSalvo tells me to take it to Dodge, Carmax tells me to take it to Dodge yet Dodge is useless. HELP!

. Rain from the torrential downpour likely affected the alternator, causing the battery light to come on and allowing the engine to stall. I would check all underhood and underdash fuses with a test light or multimeter: https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/cars-t...tml#post252145 Because of the location of the Crankshaft Position Sensor, the engine likely stalled when the sensor was flooded with water. The water could also have caused the ABS to throw a code. . Check for codes. Many AutoZone stores will do this for free. They will attach a code reader to the Data Link Connector under the dash. Write down any codes and let us know what they are. Afterwards, reset the ABS and PCU (computer). See if any codes return--most likely they won't and were caused by the downpour. |
