    Hampton Bays outdoor lantern
    Hello.
We just purchased a Hampton Bays outdoor wall lantern at the home depot which is equipped with a photo cell and a sensitivity mode.I installed the Lateran exactly as directed and fellowed the instructions to set the mode to operate automatically.
I set the sensitivity switch on the highest setting to stay on for 2 minutes.
It worked great for the first day , however, presently it works intermediately and this morning the light was on when it should have been off.
Would you kindly provide any suggestions before I return this unit.
    Thank you for your assistance.

Is it possible the sensor was left in test mode? There is usually a slide switch on a motion sensor that sets the time delay in increments, 1 min, 10 min 20 min, etc. This slide switch also has a "Test Mode" selection.

Also, if the light is controlled by a wall switch, some on the sensors have a All On program selection , that when triggered by flicking the switch, sets the sensor to On all the time, and bypasses either the photo and/or motion sensor.

If any of my suggestions are not the problem, may be just a defective sensor. Not surprising with Hampton Bay product.

Amazing how the Chinese continue to make junk and we keep buying the crap. Of course, what else is there to buy.

Thank you for your response. It appears after reading your note that the unit is defective. You're the second person that mentioned problems with Hampton Bays products.

My HB flood lights stopped working recently, but if I turn the unit to "test", wave my hand in front of the sensor, the lights pop on. Turning it back to 1,5, or 10 minute timer delay does not work, even in the dark. Faulty opical sensor? Would that prevent the unit from operating in timer mode?
