Can we lose 50 kgs in about 6 months?
I am 21 yr old. I am 5.6" tall and weigh 115 kgs. Doctor advised me (or even I can say, yelled at me)to lose about 50 kgs to reach my normal weight limit. From childhood I have been obese. And I can understand the seriousness of this issue. I have tried many fitness plans but no use. Can anybody suggest me some worthy tips so that I can lose those tooooo excess kgs and lead a healthy life as others?:(

    It can be done.
Have you ever watched THE BIGGEST LOSER
    Programmes on T V.
It takes a lot of effort and heart ache to do it.
    You must be serious.
    Enrol in a fitness programme.
See a dietician, get the doctor that yelled at
    You to seriously help you.
The most important is to limit the intake of food.
    We are what we eat.
    Good luck.

In one, year? Easily. Losing 1 kg a week can be done easily with Atkins diet. Just make sure you eat one multivitamin daily to not lose any vitamins. I'm on a similar goal to lose 60 kgs in 6 months. So I'm exercising a lot as well, mostly running. Keeping my daily caloric intake between to 1500 and exercising heavily and that too on atkins. I'm falling a little behind as I've lost like 15 kgs in 2 months (on a goal of 20 kgs). But I know I'd get close by setting a tough goal for myself. I was 120kgs, when I started, I'm 105 now.

But realistically its more like in 1 year you can do it, but its good to set a tough goal. Atkins is your best bet. A lot of people don't agree, even your doc might not, but Atkins is the only scientifically healthy thing that will work at such a fast pace.

    Three basic ingredients:

    1. Good diet (1500 calorie diet). Your body naturally burns like 2500 - 3000 calories a day for overweight people like us. Rough formula: Weight in Kgs x 2.2 x 11. This is a rough estimate how much your body burns daily just by doing nothing. Ever 3500 calorie defict (burning more, eating less) means you will lose 1 pound.

    2. Weight training. To ensure you're losing 1 pound of fat and not muscle (because muscle can be consumed for energy too when you eat too little), you need to keep the muscles in action. That way your body knows they need muscles, so its better to burn stored fat. Light to moderate weight training for the entire body (Biceps, triceps, chest, back, legs, abs, shoulders, everything) must be done. Weight training requires plenty of rest, so do one or two muscle areas per day of a week, and then other the following day. Except for ab crunches you can do them daily. For losing weight this is necessary. You lose no fat with this, by the way, but you build muscle, which increase the amount of calories you burn by just sitting around. You also look good.

    3. Cardio workout. Run, walk. No substitute for this. You want to lose the belly, run/walk 3-5 km. daily. Cardio gets your heart pumping and burns the most amount of calories than any other exercise. It is also the primary thing that gets you feeling good and able to work harder, eat better. It will raise your HDL (good cholestrol, needed to declog your arteries) levels and reduce LDL (bad ones which clog the arteries) levels.

Without doing all three, you'll probably not make it, no matter what your goal is. Doing all this requires anywhere between 1 to 2 hours of your day.

I can give you an advice I am 22 year old and every year I gain and lose 30 kilos like nothing. It's not difficult but It's the best way-
Every day you it one and the same thing for like 4 month and will lose about 7kg a month.
Eat every morning 100 grams of cottage cheese and one apple. During lunch 1 apple dinner apple and about supper time eat 2 apples.(tip:chew slowly) It's a hundred percent, but not the easiest or the most pleasant and the temptetion is a killer. However get through this and youl be in control and in shape.
P.S a 10 minute jog every morning is going to be helpful.

Drink heaps of water to help digest the food, sit ups a half an hour before bed and walk/run 's after school will help, but if you really want to get rid of those kilos I would sugest joining a gym if so talk over with your doctor and go your own pase, you can also get a personal trainer. Also meal replacements are very useful, one that is very good is called "fat blaster" in just 12 weeks you should notice a big difference in your body size. I have been using them along with going to the gym 6 days a week for about a month and all of my old clothes that were tight as anything on me are fitting me perfectly some even baggy. Well Good Luck I hope this helps :)

    @happy omar,

Hi... I can advice you if you weigh 120kg you need to have a thyroid test first a full blood check and all to see what is increased or decreased in you, then you need to join gym for a cardio exercise or you can do walking for 30 minutes a day or some cycling to help you increase your heart rate, have lots of veggies and fruits and control yourself on sugar and fatty goods.Start having home made food as you will know how much calories you are consuming, break your meals into 3-6 times a day by eating little portions.

I hope this will help you.
