Oral/Slander by a soon to be ex
My boyfriend and I have been together for a little over a year and he is currently going through a divorce. She stalling on signing of the paperwork due to some financial difficulities that she is having and therefore, would hold herself liable to, should she sign the papers in a hurried manner. I know, typical New girlfriend/old wife scenerio, however she keeps making acussaitons about me and accussing me that I am going to harm her son. Her son comes and visits once a week and every other weekend and every time that the son is around me, she accusses me of potentionally harming her son and has even went as far as trying to file a motion with the divorce attorneys to where I cannot go around her. These accusations is discomforting to me, has caused problems in my current relationship and most of all, is confusing the 6 year old child that is involved. I know that this is just an act in retaliation on her part as she is angry that the soon to be ex is no longer in a relationship with her anymore. I know that she is bitter, and hurt. But I also know that this type of behavior is unacceptable if I want to continue to have a happy relationship with her son. Because of the divorce preceedings, she has relentlessly damaged my boyfriend's credit by not paying on credit cards that she opened up in his name and he didn't know anything about that. As a result to the balance not being paid, she gave the credit card company my cell phone number in a means for them to contact him. This is a problem for me as now I am having to deal with these phone calls, using my minutes on my contract of my cell phone. My boyfriend researched this and is seeking advise on pressing charges against her for the fraud that she did using his name without him knowing about it, so that is not the issue that I have.

My question to you is due to the accussations of her accussing me of harassing her and being "unfit" to being around her son and the whole thing of her giving my credit card out to a creditor, do I have enough means to sue her for slander? Harassment? Defermation of character? Any of the things I mentioned?

Nope, while it may well be, this is common in divorce, actually fairly calm for many.

    Credit card companies calling?
Either your husband pay them, or write them and tell them not to contac you further by phone , that stops them.

As for not paying credit cards, happens in many, they don't pay for the house, the car and more, that is still civil to deal with in divorce court.

As for the way she talks about you, and hubby, well he takes her back to court about child custody, this is or should be a violation of that agreement and get a court order for her to stop.
