    Remote ceiling fan wiring difficulty
Installing new ceiling fan with remote. Ceiling wires are black red while and ground. Have connected remote to fan motor as directed and input code to match wall switch. Have only white and black wires left to connect on remote from ceiling. However, I have a white red black and ground. Not sure what combination works. Wall switch has black and red wire only, which I have connected, but doesn't seem to respond. Any suggestions?

Try connecting the fan via the remote receiver, to either the black and white from the ceiling, or red and white. One combination should work from the switch.

What was there before the fan and how was it connected? The fan connects the same way. And the switch connects the same as the old switch.
