Replacing neo angle shower pan basement
Greetings... I want to replace my neo angle shower walls and floor pan. I have no problem with the door, walls or working around the shower valve but I am stumped as to how to remove the shower pan and drain from the drain line pipe. Its all relatively new plumbing (6 yrs... plastic piping). What will I likely be getting into? Could the pan and shower drain be joined by pvc/abs cement? Could the shower drain fit inside the pipe? Thank you!

    Hi Robby,

"Could the pan and shower drain be joined by pvc/abs cement?" Yes, your drainage's PVC and while the drain's secured by a retaining nut to the floor the drain's connected to the trap by PVC cement.

Could the shower drain fit inside the pipe?"
No, The drain fits over the trap raiser and is glued on.

You do have options here. You may cut the trap raiser off under the glue joint or you may cut the pan loose from the drain and then go in from the top and cut the trap raiser off under the glue joint to remove the drain.

    Good luck, Tom
