How to prepare for court next month?
I have a court date for next month, I performed services for a one day event and had a verbal contract. I have been paid about 1/6 of total payment (owed about 5k) The event was last year in July, the organization (chamber of commerce) told me we will pay you. Their claim is that they did not make any money, I informed them that I did not guarantee any percent of profit. Besides my receipts, how do I prepare for this court date?

    1) What state is this in?
    2) What services did you perform?
    3) Who specifically did you have the verbal agreement with? Who hired you for said services?
    4) What is the defendant using as their defense for non-payment?
