    Trying to become pregnant
    Good day;

    My name is Helene and I have been married since July 2008. I got pregnant immediately during my honey moon but at 8 weeks of pregnany I discovered that I had a partial molar pregnancy case and had to remove the pregnancy sac.

    It is almost 6 months since that pregnancy and I would like to try for a baby. While checking many fertility indicators websites they used to tell me that the best time to become pregnant is between days 17-22 after the period which I tried back in Feb but didn't work out.
    I have manually calculated my average menstrual cycle using my past 5 periods and it turned out to be 32 days. So my question is if my average menstrual cycle is 32 days does that mean my fertility period is between days 17-22 or day 16 after my period since an average menstrual cycle of 28 days is calculated at day 14 (Ovulation at day 14).

    I have tried almost every website on the internet the most common ones and I feel they are misleading me.
    I am not sure what my Lutal Period is but on all websites they ask me to use the default of 14 days...

    I need serious help and advise because I need to know the right steps to plan ahead for pregnancy.

    Thank you

    Helene.

    A better guide to start with might be concentrating mostly on the 12-16 days before your next period is due. This is considered the usual luteal phase... the time between ovulation and the start of the next period. It can be off a couple of days either side and focusing too much on just a few days may cause you to miss ovulation altogether. Having a very short or very long luteal phase is one reason for couples having difficulty becoming pregnant.

    It is a good idea to not rely just on the calendar, especially if it is taking awhile to become pregnant. Some women just do not follow the norm. Watch for changes your body makes in preparation for ovulation.

    It is important to know as well that even if you have good timing... you have sex that entire week, it does not guarantee pregnancy will result. There are a number of factors that all have to be in place for conception to occur, timing is just one of them. This is why it can take some couples many months, perhaps a year or more, to become pregnant even when there are no fertility issues. Thankfully, the majority of couples will become pregnant within that first year. In most cases, it is only after that point that doctors will consider testing to see if a reason for the lack of pregnancy can be determined and treated.

    Take prenatal vitamins even if you aren't pregnant to get your body ready.. and don't stress too much about it because this can cause a delay in your period and things like that... I've found that I've only gotten pregnant when I wasn't stressing a about it too much
