Do conditions or events such as OBE and Sleep Paralysis run in families?
After reading this : Triangle Man - Your True Tales - March 2009

I tried to find a logical explanation and remembered waking once paralyzed. I have found out that it was Sleep Paralysis and that it is related to REM (rapid eye mouvement). After telling my father about it he told me of his OBE (Out of body experience) dreams from his youth. After further research, I know that SP, REM, and OBEs are all related along the same line. Is there anyone who knows if it runs in families at all or that has some more information that I could use to inform myself better?

Sorry for not giving more info. On conditions.

There are many who attribute OBE's, Astral Projection, and other such phenomena, to sleep paralysis, or caused by biological factors within the sleep cycles.

While it is true that a certain paralysis exists (so you don't beat yourself up in your sleep), or, that 'coming to' during the period between sleep and wakefullness, body functions feel frozen, what you ask about, in my opinion, is a natural human function by those who are gifted with them, and are independent of sleep problems.

In addition to OBE's, psychic, telepathic, and astral talents do tend to run in families. It is rare that such experiences occur in only one generation.

Natural talent, again in my opinion, is something that is inherited. Some choose not to learn about them, some do, others struggle all their lives with experiences they cannot accept as 'normal'.

There is a lot of good information on any of the topics noted, but I would start with further investigation in your own family. You will probably be surprised at what you will find out.

    Good luck.

That's good advice, I'll do that.

Bearing in mind I'm not someone who believes demons, ghosts and aliens are the cause of things, just plain old curious.
