Sometimes when I'm sleeping I get these episodes where frist I hear a rining in my ears, then my heart races real fast and during this process I can't move or talk. Lasts about 30 secs happens sometimes now more often though

I have or rather had something similar to that.

I would wake up in the middle of the night in a semi-comatose state, not being able to move. I was half aware of what was going on around me.

The main problem was was that my quilt cover would be over my mouth stopping efficient ventilation. As I can't move that's a big problem.

BUT, I would try as much as I can to move, mentally force my muscles to move and after about 10 seconds I would jolt the covers away - also the effort that it took for me to move would cause me to breathe in a lot of air.

So next time this happens, just concentrate on moving your muscles.

A friend of mine described briefly to me what this was. It was briefly because she had only heard about it and didn't have much info. Could someone tell me more about it or where I can go to learn more? Thanks in advance.
