    History of victorian libraries.
Okay, when I was a wee lass, I remember either someone telling me, or I read in a book, that libraries in the Victorian era were catalogued with books written by female authors on one side, and books by male authors on the other. And the only way that books by both sexes could be placed together, was if the authors were married to each other. Fast forward to the other night, when the discussion of Victorian prohibitions comes up in my ethics class. I opened my foot and spouted what I remembered. No one else could recall ever hearing my claim. So, am I right, or did I just dream it?
