    Identiy theft
I just found dout that I am a victim of identy theft. I just found out about 2 weeks ago when my bank account was frozen. I explained to the collectors that I had no knowledge of this issue. They have held 2 of my checks. If I am the victim, what can I legally do about this. Can I sue them for pain and suffering?

First you get a police report, and notify all three credit bureaus in writing. I would also freeze all of my credit reports. To freeze your bank account, they had to get a judgement so you will need to file a motion to have it overturned due to identity threft ( and also improper service if you were never served)

The bank will have to return all of your money done from ID theft.

If and when the police find the person who did this, you can sue them for all of the costs of fixing the problem.
