    Waiting on tax refund and wondering if I owe back taxes?
    How do I find out if you owe back taxes to the IRS?

    If you mail the return, it sometimes takes EIGHT weeks to get your refund,

    Even filing electronically does not guarantee a quick refund.

    If you have not gotten your refund by mid-March, and you get no satisfaction from the Where's My Refund? Application on the IRS website, THEN call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040.

    You can check in advance if you are flagged for offset or not by calling FMS Autoresponder line at 1-800-304-3107
