My son wants to be adopted by step-father
My 17yr-old son wants my husband, his step-father, to adopt him. His biological father has never wanted anything to do with him and still doesn't claim that my son is his. Bio-Father pays child support but doesn't want ANYTHING to do with my son. I contact bio-fathers family so he can call me to get consent but they all act like they don't talk to him.. What can I do? If there is a way around this will the child support stop? I'm sure that would get him to call me so he can get us out of his life for good. Sad but true... his loss. Please help.

    Hello..
Well concedering that I never met my birth father. I would say just do it don't worry about what he has to say because like you said its his losS! I was born out of country and my my mom had married a american which is who I call dad.. "father" now. He a true blessing!! And that may be what your son thinks your husband is... this has nothing to do with your sons father expecally if he doesn't want anythign to do with his owN son!
I see where your sons going.. his old enough to understand. His father hasn't been in his life so he accepts that. And he would need to move on like he has!
Like I've told my friends, your baby daddys have 1 option out of 2.
    1) they either can stay in your child's live and support them and doesn't have nothing to do with you and them personally its about the child.
    2) or they can either just leave now and don't bother coming back to interrupt the child's life later on.
I'm not sure if you understand what I'm tryna say but. Hope you do. Its just the fact that if they have been absent for so much of your child's life there's no point of trying to make up for it because they have done lost their years of being a true parent!
    Just go for it!!
Well I'm hope this helps you!

    Contact a lawyer.

A family law attorney in your area will tell you how you need to proceed if you cannot contact the biological father directly.
