    Which filing status, complicated
    I am a green card holder my wife live outside the country she do not work I support her living expences do not know the filing status to use for tax returns cannot file married blc she got no SSN caanot file head of household and also going to use the tax return for the immigrant visa, someone help.

    You can only file as married filing jointly or married filing separately. So you should file as married filing jointly as residents; this you can do even if your wife has never been to the U.S.
    You will both get standard deduction and exemptions. You will attach W7 (ITIN application) with your tax return. Read Your U.S. Tax Return: Filing Status for Married
