    Filing status
    My husand owes back taxes. Should I file married filing separately on my W-4. I want more money to come out of my paycheck.

    The W-4 governs how much is withheld.

    The MFS status will result in more money being withheld from each paycheck, but will NOT have any bearing on how you file your annual tax return.
