Tank ran dry and we refilled it but the pump won't work.
HI , hope you can help as it is a holiday and we run a campsite and need our water to be back on before evening comes! Someone left the tap running all night and ran the tank dry. We filled it half full again for 4 hours and still no water cam through the taps. We washed out the filters which seemed fine anyway, and can't get the pump to run properly. Any ideas?

If this is some kind of expansion tank for the water system and there is a well supplying it, the tank pressure needs to match the pressure switch to balance the switch and tank. What ever the low cutoff is in the well switch the tank needs to be 2lb less than the cut in switch for the well to pump properly. Same as on the high end 2lb less in tank from what the pressure switch cut off is on its high cutoff.
Check pressure of tank and see if its low in pressure in air. The tank should be only half full in water and the rest air. If it's a bladder tank tap from the bottom to middle and the top. It should sound hollow abut half way up.
If its something else post back with more detailed info.
What filters were you washing out?
