Ceiling fan light works - fan does not
I just installed a Hampton Bay ceiling fan. Seemed pretty simple. One wall switch - two pull chains - one for fan, one for light. Three wires coming out of the ceiling (black white ground) and four wires on fan (black - fan, blue - light, white and ground). Instructions call for connecting black and blue to black, white to white, ground to ground. Have done this - light works fine. When I pull the chain for the fan, the motor makes a sound like it wants to work but fans do not spin.

Not a problem with the wiring.

Do the fan blades spin freely by hand?

    Check the reverse switch also.
